Cultivated Brilliance · CMI Flagship Program

A formation curriculum built for the whole person.

Cultivated Brilliance is CMI's flagship educational program, a five-track, multi-year formation curriculum grounded in the Six Domains of Human Coherence. Every student has an Individual Coherence Plan. The family is the primary unit of formation. Academic instruction and character development run through every part of the day, not as separate activities.

The Program

Cultivated Brilliance begins from a premise most educational programs do not hold. Academic performance and character are not separate outcomes to be optimized in parallel. They are expressions of a single underlying condition: human coherence. When a young person is coherent across biological, cognitive, psychological, relational, financial, and cosmological dimensions, learning accelerates, identity stabilizes, and capacity compounds.

The curriculum is organized into five disciplinary tracks that give students a real domain of study, not a general survey but sustained engagement with a field of the world. Every track maps to the Six Domains framework. Every student moves through four developmental levels across an eight-year scope with an Individual Coherence Plan guiding their progression.

CMI offers Cultivated Brilliance as academic instruction and educational services, including tutoring. Families can engage through the full Micro-School, through CB Summer as a point of entry, or in specific tracks depending on what fits their student best.

Curriculum Architecture

Five tracks. One integrated formation.

Each track is a sustained field of study with its own disciplinary logic, practitioner connections through the Living Library, and mapping to the Six Domains of Human Coherence. Students do not rotate through all five simultaneously. Their Individual Coherence Plan determines track sequence and depth based on developmental level and formation goals.

T.01

Finance & Capital Systems

Economic literacy, institutional design, capital architecture, and the relationship between money, power, and community. Students develop the capacity to understand and eventually navigate capital systems as informed actors who can build, protect, and deploy resources with intention, not as passive participants.

Primary Domains

Financial Cognitive Relational
T.02

Technology & Intelligence

Systems thinking, digital fluency, applied intelligence, and the ethics of technology. Students learn to think with and about technology, understanding how systems are built, what they optimize for, what they obscure, and how to use them without being used by them.

Primary Domains

Cognitive Psychological Financial
T.03

Culture & Human Development

Identity, narrative, ancestral knowledge, relational capacity, and the history of human communities. Students develop a grounded sense of who they are, where they come from, and what they carry, alongside the relational skills to move through diverse human environments with integrity.

Primary Domains

Psychological Relational Cosmological
T.04

Living Systems

Land, water, body, food, and ecological relationship. Students develop literacy in the living systems that sustain human life, understanding the body as a system, the land as a system, and the relationship between human health and ecological health as foundational rather than peripheral knowledge.

Primary Domains

Biological Cosmological Relational
T.05

Built & Connected Worlds

Housing, infrastructure, spatial design, civic systems, and how the built environment shapes human experience. Students learn to see and eventually influence the systems that organize physical and civic life, from the design of a neighborhood to the structure of public institutions.

Primary Domains

Cognitive Relational Financial

The Framework

Six Domains of Human Coherence

The Six Domains framework is the intellectual foundation of Cultivated Brilliance, developed through AracenCo Lab and published as part of CMI's working paper series. Each domain represents a distinct dimension of human functioning that is measurable, developable, and interconnected with the others.

D.01

Biological

The body as a system: physical health, nervous system regulation, sleep, nutrition, and the physiological foundation that makes cognitive and emotional functioning possible. Coherence here means a body that is resourced, regulated, and understood by its occupant.

D.02

Cognitive

How a person thinks, learns, reasons, and processes information. Coherence here means not just academic proficiency but the metacognitive capacity to understand one's own mind, how it works, what it does well, and where it needs support.

D.03

Psychological

Identity, self-concept, emotional regulation, resilience, and the inner architecture of a stable self. Coherence here means a person who knows who they are, can hold that identity under pressure, and has the emotional resources to navigate difficulty without losing themselves.

D.04

Relational

The capacity to form, maintain, and repair relationships across difference, hierarchy, and intimacy. Coherence here means genuine relational skill, the ability to build trust, navigate conflict, and sustain meaningful connection, not just social comfort.

D.05

Financial

Economic literacy, relationship to money, capital systems knowledge, and the capacity to build and protect material resources across a lifetime. Coherence here means a person who understands how capital works and has developed the judgment to engage it with intention.

D.06

Cosmological

A person's relationship to meaning, purpose, ancestry, and their place in something larger than themselves. Coherence here means a grounded sense of why one's life matters, developed through genuine engagement with tradition, history, and one's own deepest questions rather than imposed from outside.

Student Progression

Four developmental levels across an eight-year scope.

Students do not simply age through the curriculum. They progress through four developmental levels as their coherence deepens, with each level representing a qualitatively different relationship to the material, to themselves, and to the world. An Individual Coherence Plan tracks each student's progression and guides decisions about depth, pace, and track emphasis.

Level 01

Foundation

Ages 5 – 8

Introduction to each domain through story, direct experience, and guided exploration. Students begin building the vocabulary and self-awareness that makes later formation possible.

Level 02

Orientation

Ages 9 – 11

Students begin connecting domains to real-world systems and to their own emerging identity. Track engagement deepens. The Individual Coherence Plan becomes an active instrument.

Level 03

Formation

Ages 12 – 15

The core formation period. Students engage each track with sustained rigor, build practitioner relationships through the Living Library, and develop their first articulations of purpose and direction.

Level 04

Integration

Ages 16 – 18

Students synthesize their formation across tracks and domains. Applied projects, mentorship, and real-world engagement mark this level. Graduates leave with a documented Coherence Profile and a clear sense of where they are going.

Student Instrument

Individual Coherence Plan

Every student in Cultivated Brilliance has an Individual Coherence Plan, a living document that tracks their development across all six domains, guides decisions about track emphasis and depth, and provides a longitudinal record of their formation progress.

The ICP is not a test. It is a structured record of who this student is, where they are growing, and what the curriculum needs to do for them specifically.

Curriculum Resource

The Living Library

The Living Library is an archive of recorded perspectives from working practitioners across every field, people who have lived inside a domain and can speak to its realities with the kind of honesty that no textbook provides.

Structured around three segments, Origin, Practice, and Horizon, each contribution gives students access to the lived experience of someone who built something real. It is the practitioner layer of the Cultivated Brilliance curriculum, feeding each track with depth that no institutional syllabus can manufacture.

Community Education

CB Summer brings Cultivated Brilliance into the community.

CB Summer is CMI's intensive community education program, a two-week, twenty-unit cohort experience that introduces students and families to the Cultivated Brilliance framework through concentrated academic instruction, field engagement, and formation activity. It is a complete program and a natural point of entry for families exploring full enrollment in the Micro-School.
